Hypnotherapy allows the client to regain power and control over their life by neutralizing the automatic response to common fears and phobias affect everyday life.
Fear is a necessary response to perceived emotional and physical danger. When the subconscious mind perceives something as dangerous, it goes to great lengths to keep us safe. The subconscious mind is highly skilled at identifying potential threats, causing the subconscious mind to create a fight of flight response within the bodies nervous system. The subconscious mind is designed this way to increase its odds of survival.
Phobias are fears that are created in an instant. Phobias are automatic responses to an event perceived traumatic to the subconscious mind.
For instance, in the past, you were gardening or hiking outside and a snake startled you so intensely you had a panic attack, jumped, screamed, and ran away – you could have developed a phobia.
Another example is experiencing a traumatic car accident and post-accident you feel chronic anxiety while driving. You may struggle with shallow breathing, white knuckle driving, and an increased heart rate. You might also mentally imagine or relive the accident in your head over and over, scared it will happen again. You could also be a frightened and alert passenger or avoid driving as much as possible, canceling social plans and carefully planning your life around driving as little as possible.
Common phobia symptoms are:
- Overwhelming and paralyzing fear.
- Intense anxiety or panic attacks.
- Fainting, vomiting or loss of bladder control.
- Avoidance of places, situations or activities where you could encounter or trigger your fear.
- Sweating, shaking, feeling lightheaded
- Fear of spiders – Arachnophobia
- Fear of small places – Claustrophobia
- Fear of snakes – Ophidiophobia
- Fear of heights – Acrophobia
- Fear of crowded places – Agoraphobia
- Fear of dogs – Cynophobia
- Fear of driving – Vehophobia
- Fear of public speaking – Glossophobia
- Fear of flying – Aerophobia
- Fear of the dark and more…
Hypnotherapy is a rapid and effective tool for overcoming common fears and phobias. Hypnotherapy addresses the fear in a safe gentle way, allowing the subconscious mind to desensitize and detach from the fear or phobia at the root cause stored withing the client’s memory. Neuro pathways within the brain are rewired and the client’s perception of said fear or phobia is altered, the emotional response is scrambled and diffused allowing for the client to gain a more neutral response to the subject formerly feared.
